There’s still a fair amount of monster encounters that definitely scared me, but I think the real horror in SOMA is the questions about what it means to be human, and how far the definition of ‘life’ can be stretched. It is less concerned with heart racing terrifying encounters and more concerned with psychological, existential horror.
